Lilly came from a high-kill New Mexico facility in Roswell. We were told she had been surrendered for playing too rough, and she was on her last day when we drove 5 hours to get her. She was the most shut-down dog we had ever taken in. Fortunately, she thrived in a multi-dog environment as long as she was the only female. She remained in our care and became the auntie to another Roswell dog, Chester, and kept his problem behavior in check gently and assertively. Lilly never had a single adoption application and is now an elder here. She has raised many foster dogs and even a tortoise and two potbelly pigs.
